Approached along a path on the north side of the ancient church, is the village museum, housed in a cottage which was built in 1846 as a home for the Headmaster of the newly built school. Later it became the home for gardeners at The Old House next door, who were often also vergers at the church. The last occupiers were the Burbidge family, who lived there with their two daughters for many years. When they moved the house was condemned for habitation but was used by the school for certain lessons and handicrafts as the school was short of space.
