Irons

Small 19c irons used by Mrs Wells in the laundry of her home in Easterton Clay - washing was done for customers in several of the surrounding villages, and delivered by pony trap - c 1880 onwards. The iron on the left has had its original handle replaced by one made by a local blacksmith.
