Washing day

Right - Board used for scrubbing clothes on. Left - Copper washing ’dolly’ c1900. Mangle c1935 - 1940. Rubber rollers. Items such as towels were often folded after drying and put through the mangle to save ironing. Slatted rack was put on top of the copper to let the hot water drain back in boiler.
